MARCELA SANCHEZ
Die chilenische Künstlerin lebt seit 2013 in Berlin. Neben ihrer Kunst arbeitet sie im Bereich der Kulturvermittlung.
Ihre Arbeit ist eine illustrierte Reflexion des Migrationsprozesses als eine Existenz in einem neuen Universum. Im Laufe der Zeit hat sie eine imaginäre Parallelwelt entwickelt, in dessen Verformung Kinder, Frauen und Natur leben. Sie zeigt ihre Herkunft, um ihre Identität nicht zu verlieren. Die kreative Antwort auf die Zeit des Einfindens in diesem neuen Kontext war eine Rückkehr zum Ursprung, eine Rückkehr in die Kindheit. Es galt einen Zustand wiederherzustellen, in dem alle Möglichkeiten offen stehen und an denen alles neu oder unbekannt ist.
Ihr Arbeitsprojekt gründet sich unter dem autobiographischen Bild der Reise, der Verschiebung von einem Ort, zu einem neuen, der sich nach und nach zu einem Zuhause entwickelt.

FERNANDA PORTO
As a multidisciplinary visual artist, Fernanda Porto transits different mediums, such as painting, installation, performance, and foremost collage. The artist was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, where she started to paint at 14 years of age and later studied fine arts at the university. She now resides and works in Berlin, Germany and is cofounder of Berlin Collage Platform were she also curated Zine Identity and Zine De-reconstruction. She participated in artist residencies in Spain and Germany and presented her works in individual and collective exhibitions in Brazil and Europe. Her work can be seen in art books and is also part of private art collections. One of her outstanding individual exhibitions with a big public success was Excess of Contemporary Life, presented at Galería Lunara – Cultural Center Usina do Gasômetro in Porto Alegre. Her last individual exhibition at Kastanien Gallery, Berlin, showcased collage works exclusively. Independently of the used technique, her artistic projects are interconnected through a recurring topic: the impact of cellphone and internet use in our contemporary society, and the effects of technology on our lifestyles.

Michelle Riemer’s Arbeiten bewegen sich auf einem Spektrum abstrakter Darstellungen intuitiver Formen und Farben zur Auseinandersetzung mit dem eigenen Innenleben. Emotionen, vor allem aber die Kontrastierung und damit Verarbeitung unterschiedlicher Empfindungen werden auf eine bildliche oder dreidimensionale Ebene gebracht. Als Kunsttherapeutin werden die künstlerischen Prozesse immer wieder in den kunsttherapeutischen Bereich übersetzt.
